Youth Track Program

Register a group for the Youth Track program HERE!

The Youth Track is a one-day program for middle and high school age youth from the seven county Western Slope of Colorado. Your students will benefit from the relationship building and educational experiences with other students their own age, facilitators, and grant makers at this exceptional one-day program. Teamwork, critical thinking and one-of-a-kind moments will make this event impactful and fun for participating youth.

Engaging our youth…

Our goals are to engage youth in problem solving activities regarding issues in their own communities. This is not only an opportunity for youth to take a closer look at their own communities and learn to develop solutions, but it is also an opportunity to partner with a willing audience to find sustainable solutions and actually make a change.

A hands-on, educational adventure…

Kids will work in groups to create a skit and, then, perform at the end of the day to a unique audience of nonprofit organizations, grant makers and funders. This is a wonderful opportunity to request funding for individual projects.

June 18, 2013 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:15 p.m.

The Ouray School Gym
400 7th Avenue
Ouray, CO

Free! When registering for the event, you will need to place a $25 deposit to reserve your place at the event.  This deposit will be returned after participation in the Youth Track event.

Lunch will be provided free of charge by a Ouray restaurant. Please let us know if you have special diets concerns. We will try to be accommodating.

We ask that each interested youth organization sign up 5-10 youth in the middle to high school age range.

SOME OTHER FUN STUFF: We will have a videographer filming every skit. Each organization will receive a complimentary edited DVD a few weeks after the program.

IMPORTANT NOTE:  Don’t have at least five youth in your group? It may be possible to merge your group with another youth group from the community.

Each group is responsible for:

  • A chaperon for the whole event
  • Travel to and from the conference
  • Parental permission and individual health concerns of participants

To register each group needs to provide:

  • Name of organization, address, phone number, email address
  • Primary contact person's name, email and phone number
  • The number of youth participating
  • Name of chaperon(s) and names of participants (2 weeks in advance)
